The course aims to teach and reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment for the identification and treatment of medical conditions that place the child at risk for cardiac arrest. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill children and/or to perform effective resuscitation resulting in improved outcomes.
Goals
- To apply high-quality basic life support in pediatrics
- To teach the systematic approach to pediatric assessment
- Recognition and treatment of respiratory distress and respiratory failure
- Recognition and treatment of compensated or hypotensive shock
- Recognition and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest and dysrhythmias
- Practisng proper technique for intraosseous (IO) access and fluid bolus administration
- Extensive practice of team dynamics and communication during resuscitation

**At the end of the course American Heart Association (AHA) certificate will be awarded to the participants who successfully complete the course.
