SUMMARY:Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course
DESCRIPTION:The course aims to teach and reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment for the identification and treatment of medical conditions that place the child at risk for cardiac arrest. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill children and/or to perform effective resuscitation resulting in improved outcomes. \nGoals \n\nTo apply high-quality basic life support in pediatrics\nTo teach the systematic approach to pediatric assessment\nRecognition and treatment of respiratory distress and respiratory failure\nRecognition and treatment of compensated or hypotensive shock\nRecognition and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest and dysrhythmias\nPractisng proper technique for intraosseous (IO) access and fluid bolus administration\nExtensive practice of team dynamics and communication during resuscitation\n\nCourse content \n\nDidactial lessons\nInteractive learning accompanied by videos\nSkill practices on task trainers and mannequins\nSimulated clinical scenarios\nAssessment of knowledge and skills practices\n\n**At the end of the course American Heart Association (AHA) certificate will be awarded to the participants who successfully complete the course. \nCancellation Policy
